Halloween spirit

Why am I having so much trouble getting into the spirit of Halloween creating this year? I am painting sugar skulls but very slowly. I have shows coming up the next couple of weeks and I think anything Halloween should help draw people to my booth but I just can't seem to buckle down and finish anything. This is about the only piece I have finished so far and I am not sure if it is Halloween or just strange... You can see this goblin on my site http://raven333.etsy.com

More about doll classes

One of the teachers last week worked with Jim Henson. He had such a calm, laid back way of teaching, I could just imagine him making a crazy puppet. He taught how to make a doll on a candle stick and we embellished the heck out of those dolls. My candle stick needs to be taller, she is out of preportion right now. I took way too many trims but was glad I did. Wish I had brought my camera, one person made a witch that was just incredible. Might have to give that a try. Oh and I still can't do fingers, even big fingers, I blow them out when I turn them everytime.

After the Doll Classes

I am finally home again. I had a good time but have decided to take a break from doll classes for awhile. They are much more expensive than felting lessons and I don't seem to enjoy them like I once did. The people there were wonderful, lots of new and old faces. I gave a felt demo one night and it was popular, as Sally said I turned into Tom Sawyer, everyone wanted to try it after they say me making felt.

The dolls I made are in various stages of being finished. I will show the one I make in Pam Grosses class. It really inspired me so I hope to make more soon.

Classes and a contest

Tomorrow I am headed off to a week of classes by well know art doll instructors. This is very challenging for me. I have not been really into this because of all the problems we have had lately. Jack the free rescue dog fell in the back yard Sat. and is having $1500 worth of surgery tomorrow so I will be calling the vet every few hours to check on her. She will be in a cast for several months so that should be interesting. As you can guess, I really need to get away from everyday life for awhile so these doll classes should help. If I finish anything, I will show pics in here.
Now for the good part. Win this hand woven neckwarmer http://tinyurl.com/ndncpn. Beautiful fall colors. Be the 487 heart at my shop and you win, I will even pay shipping. I will be checking out my site and will let the winner know at soon as I hit that spot but it will be mailed after I get home. If you are an early Christmas shopper, this would be a unique gift and it would be free. Even better! Good luck and wish Jack well on her road to recovery. She did this same thing to her other knee 2 years ago. Luckily the front legs can't get this kind of injury!
